Education

Vishal attended the National University of Singapore and received a Bachelor of Laws, with Honors, from the university's Faculty of Law. He was also a member of the inaugural class of Stanford University's Venture Capital Unlocked program, jointly organized with 500 Startups.

Professional

Vishal is a Managing Partner at 500 Global, a Silicon-Valley based multi-stage venture capital firm with over $3.2 billion in AUM. 500 Global has invested in over 3000 companies across 81 countries. The aggregate value of those startups is over $368 billion.

Over the past decade, Vishal has backed more than 300 companies globally, partnering with founders that have redefined lives and industries. His greatest joy comes from helping entrepreneurs realise their vision. Although a generalist, his passions are in AI, human healthspan, and deep tech.

Vishal gives back primarily through mentoring. He is a Kauffman Fellow and has taught programmes at Stanford, INSEAD and the Singapore-MIT Alliance. He sits on the expert panel of the Wealth Management Institute of Singapore, and on the Singapore Venture Capital and Private Equity Association committee.

Vishal frequently speaks and advises on investing, board and management issues, and trends in technology and humanity. His opinions are often aired on networks such as BBC, Bloomberg and CNBC. He hosts "The Unreasonable Podcast" covering the latest trends in venture and innovation.

His interests lie at the intersections of technology, culture, spirituality, health and capital. Prior to venture, Vishal was an international commercial litigator at one of Asia’s top firms. He founded an education startup while in university and was hooked on building since.

Fellowship

Vishal served his fellowship at 500 Global as a member of Class 22. His mentors were Hian Goh (Class 20), Founding Partner of NSI Ventures, as well as 500 Global Managing Partner Khailee Ng.
